The day after we got back from Mexico, we had Noah’s dedication service. It was such a lovely day filled with support and encouragement from our family, friends and church. David’s Dad performed the ceremony which was very special to both David and I.
We were asked to share why we named our son Noah and a verse we wanted to pray over him. We told the church that we named him Noah because it means “peaceful” and that his middle name, Robert, comes from Gramps (my Dad). The cool thing about the meaning of Noah’s name is that it totally fits him. He is the most laid back and peaceful kid I have ever met. We are truly blessed. Anyway, the verse we picked to pray over Noah comes from Matthew 25, the parable of the talents. It talks about how a man was wise with what was given to him.
Matthew 25:20 - 21
“The man who had received the five talents brought the other five. 'Master,' he said, 'you entrusted me with five talents. See, I have gained five more.' 21"His master replied, 'Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master's happiness.”
Our prayer for Noah is that he will wisely use what God gives Him and that he will continuously glorify Him in everything he does. We promise that we will do our best to make sure Noah knows Truth and that we raise him to be a fine, Christian man. We feel very blessed that God is letting us borrow Noah for his time on this earth.
